Construction inspection outline

The Quality Inspection Outline for a construction project is a document that outlines the specifics of inspecting the quality of a construction endeavor. The reason behind creating this outline is to ensure that the inspection process aligns with the goals and objectives set forth by the Investor.

The Quality Inspection Outline typically contains the following information:

1. Object of inspection, inspection site, and required inspection purposes.

2. Construction inspection content, procedures, and execution methods.

3. The basis, framework, technical standards, and norms applied during the execution of quality inspection for the construction project.

4. A roster of personnel involved in the inspection, individuals assigned to lead the inspection, and details regarding the competencies of those participating.

5. A list of equipment used for the inspection and laboratories utilized for conducting the inspections.

6. Estimated costs and the anticipated timeframe to complete the inspection.

The outline requirements must be presented logically, scientifically, and conducted by adequately qualified experts in accordance with legal regulations, ensuring effectiveness and alignment with customer

The content of inspection and the execution methods form the core of the outline, wherein the inspection content is divided into the following sections:

1. On-site inspection and ground restitution.

2. Calculation and compilation of inspection reports, including:

- The grounds for conducting the inspection.

- General information about the construction and the inspection subject.

- Inspection content and sequence.

- Test results, calculations, analysis, and evaluations.

- Conclusions and recommendations

The procedure and method for implementing the quality inspection of construction projects:

1. Inspection Procedure

- On-site:

+ Collection, investigation, and analysis of documents and records related to components, structures, parts of the construction, and conducting on-site assessments.

+ Detailed inspections, measurement checks of component positions, dimensions, and cross-sections of components and structures requiring inspection.

+ Excavation and inspection of the current condition of the foundation (depending on the project's purposes and practicality; during the survey and the formulation of the ICCI outline, specific advice will be provided).

+ Determination of the actual condition of construction materials and components: Corrosion testing of steel reinforcement in concrete using electrochemical methods, on-site concrete strength, quantity, diameter, thickness of concrete cover for reinforcement... (depending on the project's purposes and practicality; during the survey and outline formulation, specific advice will be provided).

+ Restoration of openings created during the inspection process.

+ And other tasks depending on the actual conditions of the project, which will be specifically advised by ICCI

- At the office:

+ Analyzing documents, experimental data, surveys, and measurements.

+ Performing calculations for verification using experimental data, surveys, measurements, and actual applied loads.

+ Assessing the current quality condition. Identifying the causes of damage and recommending remedial measures.

+ Compiling inspection reports.

+ And other tasks depending on the actual conditions of the project, which will be specifically advised by ICCI

2. Methods for inspecting the quality of construction projects

- On-site:

+ Surveying, assessing the current condition of the project: Performed manually, utilizing visual observation in conjunction with tools such as cameras, steel rulers, calipers, and measurement devices to determine crack widths.

+ Checking geometric dimensions: On-site inspection, measurements, and reevaluation of the dimensions of project components. Conducted manually using steel rulers, calipers, and ultrasonic metal thickness gauges.

+ Verifying column verticality: Conducted using surveying methods employing Leica electronic total stations.

+ Assessing the overall inclination of the structure: Conducted using surveying methods employing Leica electronic total stations.

+ Checking the deflection of beams and roof trusses: Conducted using surveying methods employing Leica electronic total stations.

+ Examining the condition of the construction foundation: Carried out through excavation to expose the foundation and directly inspect its condition (based on the project's needs and practicality, ICCI will provide specific advice during the survey and outline preparation).

+ Conducting corrosion tests on steel reinforcement within concrete on-site using the electrical potential method utilizing Elcometer THD 331 equipment, hand drills by Bosch, and sandpaper (based on the project's needs and practicality, ICCI will provide specific advice during the survey and outline preparation).

+ Testing concrete strength: Executed manually by drilling concrete cores directly at the site and subsequently processing them for compression testing in the laboratory, supplemented by non-destructive methods using a rebound hammer (based on the project's needs and practicality, ICCI will provide specific advice during the survey and outline preparation).

+ Inspecting the quantity and diameter of steel reinforcement: Carried out using electromagnetic methods with Elcometer THD 331 equipment (based on the project's needs and practicality, ICCI will provide specific advice during the survey and outline preparation).

+ Checking the thickness of concrete cover for reinforcement: Conducted via electromagnetic methods using Elcometer THD 331 equipment (based on the project's needs and practicality, ICCI will provide specific advice during the survey and outline preparation).

+ Restoring drilled holes: Patching drilled or punctured areas using Sika grout (based on the project's needs and practicality, ICCI will provide specific advice during the survey and outline preparation).

+ And other tasks contingent upon the actual project conditions, which will be specifically advised by ICCI.

- In the laboratory and office:

+ Processing concrete core samples drilled on-site following the specifications outlined in the TCXDVN 239:2006 standard, subsequently subjecting them to compression testing using the Phoenix compression machine (based on the project's needs and practicality, ICCI will provide specific advice during the survey and outline preparation).

+ Processing collected data obtained on-site.

+ Computational analysis of data using computer software specialized in the field: etabs, safe, and other related standards.

+ And other tasks contingent upon the actual project conditions, which will be specifically advised by ICCI.

It is essential to develop an outline for quality inspection to understand the necessary tasks, workload, and project schedule. This helps in estimating the budget required for executing the quality inspection tasks.

The inspection costs are determined by creating an estimate based on the workload outlined in the plan. The inspection expenses may encompass some or all of the following costs:

1. Preliminary survey costs before outlining the subject of inspection (if applicable). At ICCI, this cost is entirely free, regardless of whether the client signs a contract for implementation or not.

2. Outline creation costs for inspection. At ICCI, this cost is entirely free, regardless of whether the client signs a contract for implementation or not.

3. On-site survey and inspection costs, calculations, analysis, and evaluation after conducting on-site inspections.

4. Machinery and equipment transportation costs (if applicable).

5. Report compilation costs for inspection results.

6. Transportation costs.

7. Other miscellaneous expenses related to the inspection (if applicable)

In 2007, International Construction Consultancy and Inspection Joint Stock Company (ICCI) registered for the construction quality inspection sector, obtaining Business Registration Certificate No. 0305296785 issued by the Department of Planning and Investment.

Proudly boasting over 16 years of experience, ICCI is recognized as a reputable construction inspection company. Even after project completion, ICCI continues to safeguard its clients' rights. Customer trust and satisfaction serve as our driving force for development and enhancement to meet job demands.

ICCI's Implementation Criteria:

1. Work Progress: Swift and adaptable.

2. Work Quality: Adhering to Ministry of Construction regulations, ensuring the best outcomes.
