Quality inspection of a factory

Quality inspection of a factory is the process of testing and determining the quality of the factory, construction component, or construction project in comparison to design requirements and standards. This is achieved through a combination of testing, recording, and visually assessing the current condition.

Quality inspection of a factory, along with the evaluation of quality and structural capacity of the construction, is of utmost importance and cannot be overlooked.

Inspection of a factory directly influences the assessment of the factory and workshop structure quality. This compliance aligns with the regulations outlined in Decree No. 06/2021/ND-CP issued by the Government on January 26, 2021 (referenced from the Ministry of Construction's source here), concerning the management of construction quality and maintenance, alongside related decisions and decrees.

How often is it necessary to inspect a workshop in a fixed cycle?

Inspecting the workshop at regular intervals serves the purpose of timely identification of signs of deterioration or wear and tear in the structure during its use. This allows for early measures to be taken to maintain the load-bearing capacity and longevity of the structure.

- Concerning new construction, as stipulated in Article 3, Clause 17 of Circular No. 10/2021/TT-BXD issued on August 25, 2021 (referenced from the Ministry of Construction's Circular here):

+ The initial workshop inspection occurs after 10 years from the commencement of operation and utilization of the structure, as regulated by the law.

+ Subsequent safety evaluations are conducted at intervals of every 05 years for the following inspections.

- For structures already in operation, in accordance with Clause 5.5.3 of TCVN 9343:2012 Concrete and Reinforced Concrete Structures - Maintenance Guidelines (refer to TCVN here), the workshop inspection cycles are determined as follows:

+ Particularly critical structures: Every 2 to 3 years.

+ Structures regularly used by a large number of people or with heavy traffic: Every 3 to 5 years.

+ Other industrial and civil structures: Every 5 to 10 years.

+ Structures affected by coastal climate and chemical corrosion: Every 1 to 2 years

Purpose of Quality inspection of a factory

- Clearly define the quality and condition of the structure.

- Assist the Investor in making appropriate decisions based on needs, scale, functionality, ensuring safety during usage.

- Inspection and certification evaluate the quality, safety, and usability of the workshop—one of the vital reports in the safety records during safety audits for workshops.

Method of Conducting inspection of a factory

The workshop inspection and plant evaluation are carried out to assess the existing structural capacity. Therefore, the primary focus should be on gathering actual data through surveys, on-site experiments, laboratory testing, or a combination of both. Simultaneously, utilizing analytical and computational methods following construction standards and regulations to draw clear, precise, and scientifically sound conclusions.

Scope of Work during inspection of a factory

- Observation and examination of the current state of the structure: Identifying architectural features, structural load-bearing aspects, noting existing damages, and deficiencies.
