Adjacent structure condition inspection
The purpose of inspecting the existing conditions of adjacent structures is to:
- Determine the initial conditions of adjacent structures.
- Assess the impact of the construction project on adjacent structures.
- Provide a basis for developing mitigation and compensation plans in the event of conflicts or disputes between stakeholders.
The procedure for inspecting the existing conditions of adjacent structures is as follows:
- The assessment organization prepares an assessment plan and submits it to the organization or individual requesting the assessment for review and approval.
- The assessment organization conducts the assessment in accordance with the approved plan.
- The assessment organization prepares a report evaluating and concluding the findings in accordance with the terms of the assessment contract and sends it to the organization or individual requesting the assessment.
The basic content of the inspecting of the existing conditions of adjacent structures is as follows:
- Survey and draw the geometric dimensions (plan) of the adjacent apartment.
- Survey the main load-bearing structure characteristics of the adjacent apartments.
- Inspect and identify the locations of cracks in the walls and concrete of the adjacent apartments: length, width, and direction of the crack.
- Identify the locations of seepage, subsidence, and soil settlement.
- Observe and record the condition of opening and closing doors and windows.
- Take pictures to record all the damage and defects of the adjacent house.
- Measure subsidence to determine the reference coordinates, and measure to determine the initial inclination of the adjacent apartments.

- The Decree on Quality Management of Construction Works.
- The Directive on strengthening construction management for high-rise building construction projects.
- The current procedures and regulations of the state.
- The requirements of the investor.
